The Photography Society of New Zealand (PSNZ) currently offers three levels of Distinction which recognise the competency of the photographer. This is open to both members of the Society and non-members at the first level - Licentiateship, higher levels are only available to members. More details can be found on the PSNZ Website: https://photography.org.nz/honours/

In April 2018 I successfully achieved this first level with a portfolio of ten images. The set doesn't need to have a theme but does need to demonstrate a diversity in approach, this could include different lens, subject matter, angle of view, nature, still life, portrait or landscape. The key factor for the award is a 'coherent and pleasing manner in which the portfolio is put together. That is to say, the images must hang together'. See for yourself in the Gallery.
